Get Connected
Networks connect people and places. Clever Networks, business networks and outdoor trail networks can all lead to something new, so take advantage of all or some of the networking opportunities this month. You never know the good things they will lead to.
Noosa’s Clever Networks
Senator Stephen Conroy’s launch of the Noosa Clever Networks project and opening of the Cooroy Data Centre in late October was a “mission complete” for me.
While not there in person, what a thrill it was to be “beamed there” through the infrastructure and high speed broadband network delivered by the project.
This technology will not only assist the growth of the regional knowledge economy but all business sectors to operate more effectively and efficiently.
The Cooroy Data Centre provides another new way to do business, economically providing fully configure, secure, connected web applications on a remote server in the Cooroy Data Centre.

Cooroy Library Update
As the new Cooroy Library and Data Centre will depend on the high speed broadband and optic fibre to provide their new services, it’s good to report that tenders for the construction of the new Cooroy Library and Data Centre close December 2.
Council is as keen as I am to see action on site so, to move forward swiftly, the mayor and CEO have been authorized to award the contract by the end of the year, provided the tenders received are within budget.
This will meet Q150 funding guidelines and means Cooroy’s new library has passed the milestone that says “work starts” early in the New Year.
Business networking
The final Business Sunshine Coast networking event for 2008 is an opportunity to build your business contacts and to discover how business will be affected by new and emerging technologies.
Starting at 4:30pm at the J, Noosa Junction, guest presenter Geoff Moller will give a non technical overview of recent IT innovations before networking activities begin at 5:30pm. Judging by the popularity of these heavily booked events, you should register early.

Cooroora Trail opens
The Noosa Trail Network has grown too.
So if you love the great outdoors, start Sunday, November 30 with a free breakfast and be among the first to bike, walk or ride your horse along the new Cooroora Trail.
The Cooroora Trail Opening starts at 7am at the Noosa Showgrounds, Pomona. Trailblazers will leave in stages, mountain bikers at 8:15am, horse riders at 8:30am and those walking at approximately 8:35am.
The 10km Cooroora Trail links the town of Pomona and Cooran, extending the Noosa Trail Network to 95km of trails throughout the Noosa hinterland.
Unlike some other sections of the network, the Cooroora Trail is relatively flat!
At the end a free shuttle bus will run between 9:30am and 1:30pm, returning you to your car at the Noosa Showgrounds.
