NISER successful in Funding Applications

NISER is thrilled to have received funding via the Queensland Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the Federal Government Volunteers Grant – to develop a specialist library for families of people suffering from Mental Health issues and to develop our Community Wellbeing Centre at 44 Maple St Cooroy.

The funding totaling $18,351 is very welcome and will greatly assist NISER to help people in the community who may be ‘in need’ and looking for a hand up (rather than a hand out).

NISER CEO Charles Shewring – said the funding will stock the library, provide a computer and internet access available for community use and also provide access to a private counselling area – as required to support people and especially families with members who may have Mental Health issues.
